The late Andre Braugher and Andy Samberg enjoyed terrific chemistry on-screen for several seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Fans will be content to realize that this chemistry was just as great off-camera. The two shared a nice bond and were complimentary of each other's work.
That was especially evident at the Emmys when Andre Braugher discussed his thoughts on working with Samberg.
He revealed, "He's a real pleasure. You only see the genius of Andy Samberg when things go wrong, but he's very smart. He understands the art of comedy and the art of filming comedy."
"I know so much by watching him because what's effortless and second nature to him is something I'm learning for the first time. It is his ability to fix what's broken."

As expected, Samberg felt just as strongly about the late actor and their time together on the series.
Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher talked to EW about Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The two made several reveals during the interview, and one of them was Samberg discussing his admiration for his co-star.
Samberg said, "Andre is actually incredible because he has comedy timing and he's done comedy [recently as a star of TNT's Men of a Certain Age], but he's also Julliard-trained. I mean, he's like for real. He could get an Oscar at any moment. All someone has to do is cast him."
During the interview with EW, Samberg also discussed the bond between Captain Holt and Jake on the show.
"It's easy to make lines funny when you're playing them to Andre. And the way that he's playing that character, which is really quite deadpan and grounded, makes me want to be more annoying."
He continues, "And I'd say that is pretty indicative of my comedy career and style. So to have Andre there, who is as we say in episode, basically a statue, like an unmovable object, it's fun. It makes me want to up my game and try and find cracks to sneak in through with silliness, and break the veneer. And I will say, I have made him break a couple of times. It's been wildly satisfying."
Fans were obsessed with Amy and Jake's on-and-off again relationship but it almost never happened.
The great chemistry between the two was evident as some of the top scenes usually featured Captain Holt and Jake together. Without a doubt, Samberg is mourning the loss of such a great human, and the same holds true for the rest of the cast.
The likes of Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio and other cast members took to social media, discussing what Braugher meant to them.
Crews wrote on Instagram, "Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts.
Crews continues, "You left us too soon. You taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship. Deepest condolences to your wife and family in this difficult time. You showed me what a life well lived looks like.”
Joe Lo Truglio added a tribute of his own, stating that there were so many positive stories about Braugher throughout the years.
"So many wonderful stories will be told about Andre but for now, all my love goes to his wife Ami and his three boys, who he loved very much and flew back every weekend from the show to be with. We all know how powerful an actor he was, but even more, Andre knew exactly well his most important role and was deeply proud of it. He spoke often about his sons, and knew how lucky he was to have Ami.”
He was a leader on the show and a person that will not be forgotten among his peers.
